Synth Class

I’m a vocal-based sound installation artist working with handmade instruments and generative systems.

I began my art making journey as a perfomance artist in San Francisco; experimenting with dance, tape, and movement. My practice is rooted in capturing live sound as it unfolds—seeking spontaneity and unpredictability.

Inspired by the cannon of electronic and tape music, I evolved towards customizing software systems with randomization, repetition, and playback inconsistancies. Recently, working with Buchla Synthesizers heightened my proclivity for exploring what sound can become through incremental change and indeterminacy.

My field recordings are often contingent on social dynamics of public and private space. They make their way into my instruments, performances, and tracks through sampling techniques. Carrying subtle, cinematic qualities—like sonic photographs—they frame real moments into extreme listening experiences.
